As January is upon us and there are a few things we at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel know we can expect,—more snow, bitter cold, and the RLounge’s new events for this month. Several evenings each month, the RLounge is filled with the sounds of local artists, the smells from a special tasting from our chef, and an opportunity for our mixologists to show-off their new favorite cocktail. This January we have a little of everything planned for our guests and neighbors who are brave enough to venture out into the Chicago weather.
It’s no secret that January in Chicago is typically a cold and gloomy month. With the holidays over and Valentine’s Day a full month away, it can be hard to find something to look forward to. However, have no fear because we at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore have you covered. Stop by today, January 4th and watch our mixologist demonstrate how to concoct our favorite hot cocktail. There is no doubt that these hot cocktails will drive the icy Chicago winds from your bones. These handcrafted cocktails will be made with spirits from our favorite local distilleries. We can’t wait to curl up next to our fireplace as we sip a hot cocktail made with North Shore Vodka or Few Whiskey. Stop in today, January 4th from 5:30 to 6:30 PM to enjoy one of these delicious hot cocktails on us!
2017 is a new year and we will be adding new artists to our esteemed list of performers in RLounge. Local artist Aly Jados, who is new to performing at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel, will be kicking-off Rlounge’s 2017 live music performances on January 11th from 7 to 11pm. A native Chicago singer and songwriter, Aly started performing at the early age of 13. Aly is a very talented singer who competed on American Idol in 2011 and The Voice in 2012. Aly’s sound is soulful and bluesy, and is she sure to bring a new vibe to our live music events. We look forward to welcoming Aly throughout the year.
If you come-in on January 18th, from 7 to 11 pm, you will be treated to the Urban Pop Rock musical stylings of Ethan Butler. Ethan began performing at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore hotel last year, and we are thrilled to have him return for the first month of events in 2017. Born on the Westside of Chicago, Ethan Butler has played music his entire life but only recently began his career as a singer and songwriter. Ethan draws his musical inspirations from artists such as Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Justin Timberlake and John Williams. It is this mix of inspirations that makes Ethan’s musical style so uniquely his own, and it is this unique style and his powerhouse vocals that landed him a spot on The Voice in 2014. We know that you will enjoy his performance as much as we always do while relaxing in the RLounge.
The running theme of January’s live events is that each of our artists performing this month have all had spots on The Voice. Our final musical performer for January is Keith Semple. Keith performed for us in the RLounge during the month of December, and since we such big fans of his we just couldn’t wait to get him back to perform again. Keith will again be performing an unplugged set, on January 24th from 7 to 11, pm and we are excited, given his range of songs, to see what the set list this month will yield.
Every month in the RLounge the events are spectacular but we are even more excited to see this month’s events and kick-off 2017 with you!
